MEET CHRIS GRANT
DJ Valence is Chris Grant, an open format and radio DJ from Springfield, MO. Grant has been a professional DJ for over 15 years now, and has built quite an impressive resume during that time.
In 2005, he was an intern under Lou Whitney at “The Studio” in Springfield. During this time, he learned the fundamentals of sound engineering, in both studio and live settings. He also ran sound for many different local acts including Sweetwater Abeline and Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin.
In 2006, Grant was approached by someone who worked for an entertainment company in Springfield, and was offered their Music Director position. While he held the position, Grant planned, hosted, and was the DJ for several types of events, including a major fundraiser for Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels and his foundation. He also managed, mentored, and booked a team of other DJs for the company.
In 2008, his job with the entertainment company led him to an offer from the St. Louis Cardinals AA affiliate Springfield Cardinals, as their DJ for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. During this time, Grant was the DJ for over 140 games, including the very first All-Star game held at Hammon's Field. During this time, he was also mentored by the Busch Stadium DJ, and other St. Louis DJ's.
In 2010, Grant took his knowledge and experience, and started his own company called Platinum Plus Productions. Since then Platinum Plus has provided DJs for all types of events, and worked with several other talented DJs.

In 2016, Grant reached another milestone and landed his own mix show, on Saturday nights, from 10pm to 12am, on 92.9 The Beat in Springfield, MO. Grant kept the position for right around two years, until COVID-19 forced the station to make budget cuts, and let go of Chris and the mix show. The station has since changed formats, and let many other staff members go as well.

As a long time comedy fan, Chris made a New Year's resolution in 2021, on the air on 92.9, that he would come up with a "tight five", and try his hand at standup. It took a couple extra years to get started, but in 2023, Chris dove in to comedy head first, and began booking shows. Since then he's performed in Springfield, Austin, Chicago, Indianapolis, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Nashville, Fayetteville, Rogers, St. Louis, Kansas City, and more.

In addition to performing comedy, Chris has also used his connections to produce comedy shows around the Springfield, Missouri area at The Eagles Lodge, The Historic Morgue, Moon City Pub, and the Treehouse Lounge. Chris believes in giving stage time to other comedians, so they can develop their talent.

In his spare time, Grant enjoys spending time with friends, family, and most of all, his daughter Natalie. For booking, please fill out the contact form HERE.
